Managing Test Templates: Crafting Your Candidate Assessments
The Test Templates section within the Hire Workspace is where you design and organize the structured assessments you'll use to evaluate candidates. Building upon your Question Bank, this area allows you to create customizable test templates by combining various question categories and individual questions. These templates are essential for standardizing your assessment process and ensuring consistent evaluation across different roles and candidates.
Creating Test Templates
- Navigate to Hire → Hire Workspace → Test Templates
- Click the Create Template button
- In the opened sidebar, define the basic details of your new test template.
- Template Name: Enter a descriptive name for your template
- Color: Click the dropdown and select a color from the available options.
- This can help with visual organization and differentiation of templates in the main Test Templates view.
- Description: Enter a detailed description of your test template.
- You can use the text formatting options (bold, italics, etc.) provided above the text area.
- Include Introduction: Select the checkbox if you want to include an introduction.
- This allows you to add an introductory message or instructions that candidates will see before starting the test.
- Click one of the following buttons:
- Save & Add Categories: Once you've filled in the general details and are ready to add content.
- Save: If you want to create the template now and add categories later.
- Cancel: To discard template creation.

Once you have created your test templates, you can manage them directly from the main Test Templates view. Each template card has an Actions menu in its top right corner. Clicking this menu will reveal a set of options to help you manage your templates:
Preview: View how the test will appear to candidates.
Edit Template: Modify the general details of the template (name, color, description, introduction).
Copy: Create a duplicate of the entire test template, including all its assigned categories and questions. This is useful for quickly creating similar tests.
Edit Categories: Modify categories and questions in your template.
For templates that do not yet have any categories or questions added, the "Add Categories" option is your starting point to begin populating the test with content from your Question Bank. You can also remove templates that have no categories or questions.

Begin building your test templates by adding categories of questions from your existing Question Bank:
- Click the Actions menu in the top right corner of the template card.
- Select Add Categories.
- From the dropdown, choose an existing question category from your Question Bank to add to this test template.
- Configure the QUESTION DETAILS Section:
- Randomize Questions: Select the checkbox to randomize the order of questions within this category for the test.
- Number of Questions: Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons, or type a number, to specify how many questions from this category should appear in the test.
- Choose Questions: Select questions from the current category in your Question Bank to be part of the test template.
- The option is displayed when the "Randomize Questions" checkbox is not selected. You will manually choose which specific questions from that category to include in the test, rather than having the system randomly select them.
- Randomize Options: Check this box to randomize the order of answer options within questions from this category.
- Apply Uniform Score: Check this box to apply a uniform score.
- All questions within this specific category will be assigned a uniform score, overriding their default points set in the Question Bank.
- Uniform Question Score: Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons, or type a number, to set the uniform score.
- This field appears when "Apply Uniform Score" is enabled. It allows you to set the specific point value that every question in this category will be worth for this test template.
- CATEGORY WEIGHT Section
- Modify Weight: Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons, or type a percentage, to set the weight for this category.
- This determines how much this category contributes to the total score of the test.
- Add Category: Click this button to include more categories in your test.
- TOTAL: Displays the sum of the weights assigned to all categories currently added to the template.
- Distribute Equally: Click this button to distribute the weights.
- If you have multiple categories added, clicking this button will automatically distribute the total weight (e.g., 100%) equally among all selected categories.
- Click the Save button once you have finished adding and configuring all your desired categories, or click Cancel to discard the configuration.

Congratulations! Your test templates are now ready and can be seamlessly applied across different recruitment stages to evaluate candidates effectively.
