Creating Career Paths
Creating Career Paths in Spark.work allows your organization to structure and visualize employee growth. Career Paths define logical progressions from one role to the next, helping employees understand potential opportunities and providing HR and administrators with a clear framework to manage career development.
To create a career path:
- Go to Grow → Career → Paths.
- Click the Create Career Path button to start building a new path.
When you click the Create Career Path button, a sidebar opens with the following fields:- Position – Select the position you want to include in this career path.
- This is the starting point for defining the path.
- Job Family – Automatically populated based on the selected position. Indicates the functional group (e.g., HR, Finance).
- The value is sourced from the Position Management Settings when the position is created.
- Career Track – Displays the career ladder type (e.g., IC Track, Managerial Track) associated with the position.
- The value is sourced from the Position Management Settings when the position is created.
- Path Title – Enter a descriptive name for the Career Path (e.g., Frontend Developer Path).
- Career Progression Levels – Define the levels for this path.
- Click Add New Level to include additional levels in the path.
- Once all fields are completed, click Save to create the Career Path.
- The new path will now appear in the Paths section and can be managed through Path Settings for linking, editing, or deleting levels.
