    Actions for Objectives:

    • Lock Objectives: Prevent changes to objectives that are finalized and actively being pursued
    • Move to Backlog: Temporarily pause objectives for later consideration
    • Delete Objectives: Remove objectives that are no longer relevant
    • Edit Objectives: Make necessary adjustments to objective details (excluding locked objectives)
    Actions for Key Results:

  • Check In: Regularly assess progress towards  key results.
  • Add Comment: Provide feedback, insights related key results.
  • Cascade to OKR: Create a new, lower-level objective that directly supports the achievement of the current objective.
  • Edit: Modify key result details as needed.
  • Delete: Remove key results that are no longer relevant.
  • To achieve your key results, you also need  to create initiatives that drive progress.

    Creating Initiatives:

    1. Click on the Objective name
    2. Access the Actions menu for a specific key result and select Add Initiatives
    3. Enter a clear and specific definition
    4. Select the appropriate measurement unit (percent, number, Reached/Not Reached)
    5. Start: Specify the initial value for the initiative
    6. Target: Establish the desired outcome or goal
    7. Due Date: Set the deadline
    8. Owner: Determine who is responsible for achieving the key result.
    9. Contributor: Add contributors to support the achievement of the key result.
    10. Click Save to add the key result or Cancel to discard the changes.

Important! Adding initiative actions can be a valuable way to track progress toward your key results, especially when they are not measured numerically.

If your key result focuses on achieving a specific outcome or goal rather than a numerical target, creating related initiatives can help you visualize and measure progress.

For example, if your key result is to "Launch a new product by the end of the quarter," you could create initiatives:

    • X
    • Y
    • Z

Tip: Once you created an initiative, you can then access the Edit Initiatives action from the Action menu.

    Making Check-Ins

The system automatically calculates your expected daily progress based on the key result deadline. This progress is visually displayed on the progress chart.

To track progress and update key result status, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Actions menu for the desired key result
    2. Select Check In
    3. New Value: Enter the current progress value for your key result
    4. Expected: The expected value will be displayed for reference
      • It shows the anticipated progress value daily
    5. Answer: Select one of the available options to indicate whether the Key Result was Reached or Not Reached.
      • This applies when the progress measurement is set to Reached/Not Reached.
    6. New Status: Manually select the appropriate status for the key result based on its progress (Behind, On Track, Low Chance)
    7. Click Cancel to discard the settings or select  Check In to save your progress updates and finalize the check-in process
    8. Comment: You can explain the reasoning behind your status selection and click Send button.

Note: For key results focused on achieving specific milestones rather than numerical targets, you'll need to specify whether the milestone has been reached or not during your check-ins. By selecting the relevant option (Reached or Not Reached), you can effectively communicate the progress of these types of key results.

    Prioritizing Key Results (Edit Weights)

Assign weights to your key results and focus your efforts on the most critical areas for achieving your objectives. Initially after creating key results, the system distributes the weights among the key results equally.

    Define the weights:

    1. Choose the specific  objective with key results you want to prioritize
    2. Click the Edit Weights button

    3. Assign a percentage value to each key result, ensuring the total weight equals 100%
    4. Use Distribute Equally to assign equal weights or manually adjust values for customized prioritization
    5. Click Save to apply the weight changes or Cancel to discard them
Note: When you create your first key result, it will automatically be assigned a weight of 100. Subsequent key results will weight 0 until you manually assign them specific weights. This ensures that the initial key result receives the highest priority.

    Linking Objectives: Parent-Child Relationships

Establish relationships between objectives to create a clear hierarchy and ensure alignment. Ideally, these relationships should be established within the same cycle, as it fosters focus and alignment within that specific timeframe.

To Link Objective as Parent or Child:

    1. Create a New Objective: See how to create objective here
    2. Set Parent or Child: Link the new objective to an existing one as a parent or child by clicking Set Now button. You can delete the Parent objective as well using Remove Parent button.
      • Use the Explore Objectives button to find the desired objective
    3. Finally select one of the buttons: Save, Save as Draft, Cancel

Note: Objectives from completed cycles cannot be used as parent or child objectives for new objectives.

After establishing dependencies, view the parent-child relationships between objectives within the Objective Tree section. This visual representation helps you understand the interconnectedness of your goals.

Progress made on objectives and their associated key results will be reflected on the main page of All OKRs and Personal OKRs.

To view the key results associated with an objective, click on the down arrow. You can then access details like Comments, Check-ins, and Attachments by clicking on the corresponding links.

You can view the team members of the objective and key results using the View Team button.

If you are not currently an Owner or Contributor of this objective, you can still contribute to its success.

    1. View Team: Click on the View Team button to see the current team members working on this objective.

    2. Request to Contribute: Click on the Become a Contributor button to send a request to be added to the team.
    3. Leave a Description: In the request, briefly describe how you can contribute to achieving this key result.

Tip: As an Owner of this objective or key result, you have the ability to remove contributors from the team.

Note: For a quick overview of key result status, colors and icons are used. Key results past their due date are displayed in red, and those due within five days are shown in orange.
