Manage: Functions and Roles

Where to Find: WE → Org Structure → Manage

The Manage section is very similar to the Chart section, but with a different view and more control. While the Chart section shows you how the company looks, the Manage section is where you actually manage it.
The section displays all company Functions in a table format, making it easier to manage them in bulk.
Key details include:
  • Function Details: The role name (e.g., “CEO” or “Sales”) and its location.
  • Type (Single/Group):
    • Single: Shows the name and photo of the person in that role.
    • Group: Shows a clickable link (e.g., “3 Employees”) representing a whole team.
  • Recommended Job Roles: Displays the professional job title associated with the function (e.g., “HR Manager (Senior)”).
  • Assigned Employees: Shows the people currently assigned to this function.
    • An Unassign icon appears next to each person, and clicking a name opens that employee’s profile.
    • For Group functions (teams), a link shows the number of employees assigned.
  • Reportees: A quick count of how many people report to the function lead.
  • Actions: Open the three dots (…) on the right to manage the function. Main actions include:
    • Unassign: Remove employees from the function if their role changes.
    • Add Subfunction: Create a nested function under this role using the same process as the + Add Function button.
    • Edit: Change the function’s name, location, or type.
    • Delete: Remove the function entirely.

To create new functions, use the + Add Function button at the top of the table

Filter your view: Use the filters at the top to focus on specific org bodies. You can also define the category of the organizational unit — by selecting a type (e.g., Department), the list will show only the functions linked to that specific structural level.
