Welcome to our latest Spark.work update!
We are thrilled to unveil one of our biggest releases yet: the all-new Assessment module! 🎉 Create, send, and analyze tests for candidates and employees directly inside Spark.work, with built-in scoring and direct integration with Hire.
We’ve also brought Surveys to your mobile app: the Surveys section in the Experience module is now available on mobile with the same functionality as on the web.
Additionally, we’ve added a Work From Home widget on the web and mobile, plus several workflow automations and enhancements to make your daily HR operations even smoother.
Let’s dive into what’s new! 👇

New Features and Enhancements

Assessment: Testing for Employees and Candidates

The new Assessment module lets you create tests, send them to employees and candidates, and get clear results, without leaving Spark.work.
Assessment brings knowledge and skills testing together in one place. With it, you can:
  • Test candidates’ technical skills during hiring
  • Run internal certification tests and compliance checks
  • Check employee knowledge and behavioral competencies
You can also send assessments to candidates directly from the Hire module, either automatically when a candidate reaches a chosen hiring stage or manually by a recruiter.

    Impact

Alongside the tools you already use to review performance and collect feedback, Assessment helps you verify what employees and candidates know and can do. This supports more informed hiring decisions and helps ensure employees understand company standards.
    Enhancements to the Surveys Module

    What's New

We have improved the Surveys module to make survey management, tracking, and creation more efficient:
    • Unified Section: The Templates Library is now merged into the Surveys section, putting survey creation and templates in one place.
    • Automated Recurring Surveys: You can now schedule surveys to send automatically regularly. Results for each round are displayed under the new Trends tab (Experience → Surveys → [Survey Name] → Trends).
    • Multiple Submissions: You can now allow users to complete and submit the same internal open-link survey multiple times.
    • Expanded Question Types: Added new question formats to collect more structured feedback (Star Rating, Image Choice, Matrix of Dropdown Menus, Matrix/Rating Scale, and Slider).

    Impact

    • Simplified Navigation: Eliminates switching between separate sections, making survey setup and template management faster and more intuitive.
    • Deeper Insights & Less Manual Work: Automated recurring surveys save time on follow-ups, while trend analytics and new question types provide richer data for employee feedback analysis.
Surveys Now Available in the Mobile App

    What’s New

The Surveys section in the Experience module is now available on mobile, bringing the same functionality as the web version.

    Impact

Makes it easier for users to work with surveys directly from their mobile devices.
Work From Home Dashboard on Web and Mobile & Custom Request Types

    What’s New

    • Work From Home Dashboard Widget: Now available on both web and mobile, the Work From Home Dashboard widget displays all approved requests, showing who is working remotely today and over the next 30 days.
    • Automated Request Types: Administrators can now link request forms to specific system actions. For example, Work From Home requests can be synced with the Calendar, while Offboarding requests can trigger offboarding tasks.

    Impact

    • Better visibility of remote work: Makes it easier to see who is in the office and who is working remotely, even on mobile devices.
    • Flexible request management: Helps align request handling with the company’s workflows.

    Other Enhancements

Control Over Time Off Type Visibility

    What’s New

Administrators can now choose which Time Off types are available to employees when submitting time-off requests. Hidden types remain accessible to HR and managers.

    Impact

This enhancement helps ensure employees submit requests only for the types of leave intended for them.

Automated Handover at End of Employment

    What's New
We have updated the End of Employment workflow to ensure a smooth transition when an employee leaves. The system now automatically handles key handover steps:
    •  Identifies active approval chains, pending requests, and performance targets (KPIs/OKRs) linked to the departing employee.
    • Transfers active dependencies to a selected replacement employee to keep workflows running smoothly.
    • Automatically closes or updates the departing employee’s personal onboarding/offboarding workflows and related requests.

    Impact

    • Keep Workflows Running: Ensures approvals, company goals (KPIs/OKRs), and other processes continue without disruption when an employee leaves.
    • Simplify Offboarding: Reduces manual work by handling responsibility transfers and personal process closures in one workflow.
