Board: Visualizing and Managing Your Workflow
Where to Find: Work → Tasks → Board

The Board is an interactive space in Spark.work that turns your task list into a visual workflow. It helps you track tasks from idea to completion, adjust priorities, and see your team’s productivity at a glance.
Before you start using the Board, set up your workspace. Go to the Settings section to define your workflow stages (board columns), such as Backlog, In Progress, or Done.
Once your workspace is ready, add tasks to start using the Board:
At the top of the Board, you’ll see summary cards that give a quick snapshot of your tasks:
Before you start using the Board, set up your workspace. Go to the Settings section to define your workflow stages (board columns), such as Backlog, In Progress, or Done.
Once your workspace is ready, add tasks to start using the Board:
At the top of the Board, you’ll see summary cards that give a quick snapshot of your tasks:
- Total: All tasks in the workspace.
- Open: Tasks that are currently in progress or not yet completed.
- Overdue: Tasks past their due date.
- Done: Tasks that have been completed.
Use the tabs below to filter tasks:
- All: Shows all tasks in the workspace.
- Standalone: Tasks not linked to a project, OKR, or KP.
- Linked: Tasks connected to a project, OKR, or KPI, contributing to larger goals.
To refine your view further, click the Filters button to narrow down the task list by specific criteria, such as:
- Context type: Filter tasks linked to a Project, KPI, OKR.
- Owner: View tasks assigned to specific team members.
- Due: Sort tasks by their upcoming deadlines.
- Epic: Group tasks by the larger project or Epic they belong to.
- Status: Filter tasks based on their current stage in the workflow.
Each card on the Board acts as a mini-dashboard for that task. At a glance, you can see:
- Priority: A color-coded flag indicating the urgency - High, Medium, or Low.
- Due Date: The target completion date. If overdue, a red warning icon appears.
- Owner: The person responsible for completing the task.
- Task Name: The title of the task, showing what needs to be done.
- Linked Item: The project, KPI, or OKR the task contributes to, if it’s connected.

You can create a new task directly from the Board using two convenient methods:
- Within a Status Column: Below the existing tasks in each column (e.g., Backlog, To Do), there is an + Add Task button. Clicking this will open the sidebar with the Status already pre-selected to match that specific column.
- Using the Main Add Button: This is a global way to start the creation process regardless of which column you are looking at.
